So it took me a bit longer then I wanted to get this last comic up, mostly due to my fantastic frying computer. *sigh* So, yeah it’s a little behind the times since Beowulf is for the most part out of theaters. But I still wanted to post it because well, frankly it’s darn funny to me, and I put a lot of time on this one, gosh darn it! Oh, and I’m pretty sure my producers would beat me with my own arms after ripping them out if I let 4 weeks go by with no comic to show for it. But mainly because the point I was driving at is still pretty key. In this comic Backlash is saying verbatim what a few movie reviewers have said. I added a particular whine to his words mostly because that’s all I think movie reviewers are doing now a days, they seem to feel that they have to be bitchy and point out all the flaws just to make themselves sound interesting. I used to do DVD reviews and I think on the whole they where pretty fair. But man, when some people want to harp on something, they use one of those big mamma jamma harps you see thin little women playing when you go see the Boston Pops. You know the kind that takes 2 Spartans to lift. (Either classic 300, or Halo style doesn’t matter to me, you can go ahead and imagine your own. It’s like a “choose your own adventure” book!)

The point…? Oh right… sorry. I got myself off track with Spartan Adventure book talk. Anyway I guess I’m just trying to say that in my opinion movie reviews are becoming a bitch session. I never base what I’m going to see on them, and if I had I would have missed 300, Beowulf, Transformers, Boondock Saints, and I wouldn’t have Cloverfield on my “Oh my god I must see this movie or death will ensue!” list. In summary, I think movie reviews should be reviewed! See how they like it. Someone who has never reviewed a movie ever, telling them they are having a rough go of it. Wouldn’t be fun to see something like “Well I thought the review started off good but it got a little too wordy in the middle. And the use of the word ‘Goriffic’ seems out of place and frankly made up.”? Armchair quarterbacking is bad enough. And you can’t tell someone you’re in filmmaking now a day’s without hearing their “fantastic idea” that they worked out while waiting in line at Starbucks the other day. So in conclusion, I think that movie reviewers should get up off their thing and go do something creative! And I don’t mean write about what someone else is doing… because that’s not so much reporting, as it is whining.
